A family takes pictures with some of Peggy's Pumpkin People.

ASHLAND — Peggy’s Pumpkin People line the streets of downtown Ashland for the second year in a row.

Some of the pumpkin figurines are returning faces, such as the book reader, banjo player and coffee drinker. And others are new to Ashland, such as the farmer and his cow.

The pumpkin people are one of three finalists for the Best Downtown Placemaking award from Heritage Ohio.

Awardees will be announced Oct. 15 at Heritage Ohio’s annual conference in downtown Canton, which is free and open to the public.
