Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Mental Health levy on the ballot this year seeks to continue the legacy of care by which Ashland voters are known. Ashland’s values are reflected in this levy and in the work of our agency partners: compassion, local stewardship, and family wellness.

This levy provides nearly one-third of this Board’s budget. Board members and staff, along with our partners — ACCADA, Appleseed, and Catholic Charities—take seriously our obligation to be transparent, accountable, and effective.

Public meetings take place at the Board office, located at 1605 Country Rd. 1095, on the 4th Tuesday of most months, at 4pm. All are welcome. Additionally, there are opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, which you can learn about by calling 419-281-3139.

This replacement of a levy that’s existed since 2001 supports Ashland County’s crisis helpline, substance use services, outpatient mental health services, prevention and liaison programs in partnership with local schools, and a range of supports for families, young children, and senior citizens.

This levy costs the owner of a $100,000 home .09 (cents) a day, which is an increase of approximately .04 (cents) a day.

A “yes” vote for this levy provides our local partners and programs with stable funding, which in turn makes a meaningful impact on thousands of Ashland County residents. A “yes” vote ensures Ashland’s legacy and values will continue to be reflected in our local services and programs.

Thank you for your consideration,

Andrew Kinney
