ASHLAND — From Sept. 14 to 20, the Ashland FFA Chapter was hard at work at the Ashland County Fair.
Students were involved in showing, as well as participating in the Junior Fair Board, Fair Court, and educational displays around the fair.
Students won blue ribbons, showcased their skills, and contributed to creating an amazing experience.
Many of the chapter’s members had amazing success showing livestock at the Ashland County Fair. Oliver Harpster was the Dairy Supreme Show winner, the Grand Champion Holstein, and the Supreme Overall Dairy Breeds.
Rewarded for their hard work, Casey Stewart won Grand Champion Beef Feeder, and Emma Martin placed fourth Overall Dairy Meat Born and Raised Market Goat. Congratulations, Finnegan Burras, on his Reserve Junior Champion Holstein.

Six members from the FFA chapter served on the Ashland County Junior Fair Board. Nick Cartwright, Allie Heckman, Brandon Keiser, Haley McNaull, Hannah McNaull, and Sydney Spellman were a part of this amazing group.
They assisted the Senior Fair Board in setting up the fair, contacting buyers, helping at shows, and managing events. They would like to thank advisors Mrs. Belinda Weber, Mrs. Audra Schoen, Mrs. Rachel Allison, and Mr. Arden Fitch for their dedication to the Junior Fair Board.
Also, the chapter is proud of its two fair royalty candidates. Congratulations, Sydney Spellman, Fourth Runner Up, and Emma Martin, Fifth Runner Up. Their hard work and dedication paid off. Throughout the fair they assisted with presenting awards during shows and encouraging younger participants.
In the Grange building, students from the chapter set up a beautiful display of flowers. Thank you to Mrs. Mary Cox for teaching the students to wrap geraniums, create gorgeous bud vases, and make small centerpieces.
Also, a huge thank you to Robey’s Flower Farm for their donation of beautiful flowers. Many of our members also filled our booth in Mozelle Hall with educational posters, woodworking projects, and representation of student’s Supervised Agricultural Experiences.
The Ashland FFA Chapter did a wonderful job at the Ashland County Fair and has had a great start to their year.
