Ruth Elaine Kopecky, 95
Ruth Elaine Kopecky, 95 of Ashland, passed from this life, late Friday evening, November 14, 2025 in her home with her family at her side.
She was born on December 3, 1929 in Cleveland the daughter of the late James Arthur and Gertrude (nee Fencil) Jones.
Ruth graduated from Ravenna High School, Class of 1948. She went on to further her education and earned a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1952.
Ruth and her family relocated from the Cleveland area to Ashland in 1953; and she would call Ashland home for the next 72 years.
She married Ludomir “Lou” Kopecky in 1974.
Ruth is survived by her four children, Becka (Steve) Harp, Beth Clements, Robert J. (Jo) Henderson, Bill (Kris) Henderson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Lou Kopecky who passed away on July 9, 2009; a brother, Phillip (Norma) Jones; and a previous spouse, Judge Robert E. Henderson who passed away on October 18, 2006.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend John Bouquet presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
