Alverda B. Curren, 94 of Ashland passed from this life on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025 at her son’s home in Wooster with her family at her side.

She was born on February 12, 1931 in Templeton, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Everett and Margaret (nee Fox) Reedy. She relocated to Ashland from Kittanning, Pennsylvania.

Alverda married the love of her life Edward D. Curren on August 24, 1952. The happy couple would call Ashland home for the next 59 years.

She was a homemaker all of her life. Alverda enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time but loved spending time with her family and hosting holiday events.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Watson of Ashland and Teri Curren of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Steven (Janice) Curren of Wooster; four grandchildren, Jacob (Mattie) Curren of Akron, Jobina LeMasters of Arizona, Jason LeMasters of Defiance Ohio, and Jennifer (Tim) James of Ashland Ohio; Seven great grandchildren, Garrett, Noah, Evan, Stacy, Sarah, Tyler and Tanner; two great-great grandchildren, Georgia and Ryleigh, and two sisters, Shirley (David) Garthwaite of Latrobe, Pennsylvania and Judy (Joe) Adams of Homer City, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, Alverda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward who passed from this life on July 20, 2011.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Sprunger presiding. Entombment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be in the Legacy Room.
