Joanne W. Offhaus, 90 of Ashland passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2025 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side.
She was born on August 21, 1935 in Hamburg, New York the daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth (née Schrader) Owen.
Joanne graduated from Hamburg High School class of 1953.
She married the love of her life, Lyle Offhaus, on January 23, 1954. Joanne retired after more than 22 years from Liquibox where she worked in packaging.
Throughout her life, Joanne was an avid reader. She was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Charlene (Andrew) Cordas of Mansfield, Kathy Echelberger and her companion John Sparr of Ashland, Linda Simmons of Ashland, and David Offhaus of Ashland; eleven grandchildren, Stacy (Brandon) Hunsinger, Corey (Rhonda) Tedrow, Kristy (Matt) Scalesi, Ryan (Rhonda) Offhaus, Jason Chinn, Adam Simmons, Andy (Nikki Evans) Simmons, Cassidy (Jamison) Stonehaus, and Iann Simmons; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Wilcox of West Virginia; and one brother, Bob (Darlene) Owen of Springville, New York.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lyle who passed away on March 11, 2012; two sisters, Suzanne (Hank) Farner and Donna Bower; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Offhaus; and her son-in-law, Jeff Echelberger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Trudy Bates, Celebrant presiding. Interment will follow in the Nova Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s research Hospital.
