Yvonne Ann (Hyams) Shire age 84 of Ashland, passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Facility.

Born in Ashland on February 5th, 1941 the daughter of Raymond (Buss) and Anna (Meininger) Hyams and she had been a resident of Ashland for most of her life.

Yvonne was a member of Ashland High School Class of 1959. Throughout her life, she had numerous jobs. Moore’s Auto Shop, Sanitary Cash Market, Johnny’s Food Basket and Myers Laundry. She also sold Mary Kay and Avon. She later retired from Walmart. Yvonne was an animal lover, who loved every dog that she brought into her home, Sassy, Buster, KiKi, Bailey and Chloe to name just a few. She also was a very talented seamstress, her sewing room was filled to the ceiling with fabric but it made her happy to make things for people. She was a member of the St. Edward’s Church.

Yvonne was married to Kenneth R.Hissong and later married Ivan L.Shire, to whom she was married to for 24 years until his passing.

She is survived by four children and their spouses: Steve (Cheryl) Hissong of Ashland, Tom (Reve) Hissong of Arlington, Texas, Debbie (Zane) Gross Jr. of Ashland and Terry (Layle) Hissong of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. A brother David Hyams of Beggs Oklahoma and a nephew Chad (Jenny) Hyams also of Beggs.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Many cousins in Ashland and also Oklahoma. Yvonne’s dearest and best friend Deb Fite, who also survives. And you could also find her talking on the phone with her former Sister-in-law and friend Patsy Hyams.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, her second husband Ivan and a very special cousin Karen Beaver.

The family would like to thank The Good Shepherd for their support and care during the past 6 years, and a huge Thank you to PJ and her staff at Pathways Hospice Care for their exceptional care and support during her last couple of months.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor John Bouquet officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 11th, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm

Burial will follow at the Ashland County Memorial Park.
