ASHLAND — A former Polk fire chief is in jail again after allegedly violating conditions of his bond.

Brandon Mosher, 36, bonded out of jail for three sex-related charges on Oct. 21 by paying 10% of the $300,000 bail.

Court records show the Ashland County Prosecutor’s office filed a motion on Dec. 5 asking the court to revoke bond following the discovery that Mosher had been accessing the Internet.

One of his bond’s conditions was that he not access the web.

Mosher, a former part-time Polk-Jackson-Perry Fire Chief, was arrested Aug. 21 and charged the next day following a months-long investigation.

He also worked as a fire lieutenant for the City of Fremont.

At the time, Mosher faced a second-degree felony charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person.

Authorities then filed two additional charges in September:

  • pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor (fourth-degree felony)
  • illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material (fifth-degree felony)

Court records do not show any hearings scheduled until March, when a jury trial has been set.

His attorney, Mansfield-based James Mayer III, was not immediately available for comment.

Mosher’s Aug. 21 arrest came after a months-long investigation between the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Records show the sheriff’s office requested the state agency’s assistance on Jan. 14.
