ASHLAND — Two Armstrong veterans with over 75 years of combined experience with the local Ashland operation have announced their retirement from the company.

Armstrong is a high-speed fiber internet provider also offering streaming TV, as well as home phone services.

Mike Edwards, System Technician-Lead, has been with the company for 40 years serving in various capacities including Customer Service Representative and most recently leading the System Maintenance and Construction teams for the last 15 years.

Mike’s dedication to the company and supporting the network reliability and performance has been instrumental in the growth and success of the organization.

While working with Armstrong, Mike has been involved in many community organizations, serving on boards and committees such as the YMCA and supporting the local governments on their efforts to broadcast content locally.

A City of Ashland resident for many years, in retirement, Mike plans to spend more time with his family and being a certified referee for local volleyball organizations. Mike’s last day with Armstrong will be Feb. 27.

Sandy Burkholder, Office Supervisor/Community Marketing Manager, will retire from her full-time duties with Armstrong effective Jan. 30, 2026.

Sandy’s 35-year career with the company has been impactful to the company as well as the local community serving on numerous non-profit boards and committees over the years, such as the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Noon Lions Club, Explore Ashland, Women of Achievement, Pathfinder Farms, American Veteran Appreciation, just to name a few.

Sandy has been instrumental to Armstrong in managing the customer service operations at the local office on Claremont Avenue for almost 20 years. Armstrong customers will miss seeing Sandy’s smiling face greeting them in person and the company will miss her dedication and commitment to excellence.

In retirement, Sandy plans to spend more time with family, getting more involved with her family’s ministry, Pathfinder Farms and of course remaining to be involved with local non-profit organizations.

A community Open House will be held at the local Armstrong office located at 1215 Claremont Avenue on Thursday, Jan. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.. Please stop by and wish Mike and Sandy well in the next chapter of their life.
