JEROMESVILLE — December’s Hillsdale FFA gathering included a formal business meeting, during which officers gave reports, upcoming events were discussed, and members had the chance to share announcements and ask questions.
Following the Dec. 8 meeting, everyone enjoyed a meal together, allowing members time to relax, visit with friends, and get to know one another. After the meal, members mingled and participated in a variety of activities designed to serve the community and foster chapter spirit.
One of the main service projects of the night was collecting winter clothing to donate to Christmas on the Equator, an event that 23 of our members will participate in in the future.
Students brought in coats, hats, gloves, and other warm items to help families in need during the cold winter months.
In addition to the clothing drive, members also worked on several hands-on service projects. They made blankets for charity, carefully tying fleece edges and working together in small groups to complete as many blankets as possible.
Members also wrote thoughtful, encouraging cards for nursing home residents, hoping to brighten their day and remind them that the Hillsdale FFA cares about them.
To end the night on a fun and active note, members played a game of kickball in the auxiliary gym, giving everyone a chance to unwind, laugh, and enjoy time together as a chapter.
