Bobbie Jean Amburgy, 82 of Ashland passed from this life on Saturday afternoon, January 10, 2026 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center with her daughters at her bedside.

She was born on January 16, 1943 in Attica, the daughter of the late Luther and Edna Mae (nee Lunsford) Puckett.

Bobbie Jean graduated from South Central High School, Class of 1961.

She married the love of her life, David W. Amburgy on August 26, 1967.

Bobbie Jean was a homemaker most of her life. In her early years she was employed at RRD Donnelly in Willard, Ohio.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, completing painting by numbers, and raising her feline companions. Above all, family was the single most important thing in her life, always putting their needs before her own.

Bobbie Jean is survived by her two loving daughters, Melinda Needs of Ashland and Michelle Amburgy of Mansfield; and three grandchildren, Courtney Perry of Crestline, Spencer Hulcy of Ashland, and Bethany (Cameron) Loveless of Hebron.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, David Amburgy who passed away on July 3, 2021; one granddaughter, Kimberly Hulcy; and one sister, Ida (George) Adams.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be observed. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery with David.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gentiva Hospice, and University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion they showed to Bobbie Jean and her family.
