Netflix’s hit dating show Love is Blind has picked 32 singles from across Ohio to find love in the heart of it all on the show’s 10th season.
The new season premieres on Feb. 11 when the singles, ages 28-38, take to the dating “pods” to speak with the other contestants looking for love.
The catch? The men and women will not meet face-to-face, instead, they form a connection based on conversation alone.
After 10 days in the pods, if a couple clicks, they become engaged and only then are appearances revealed. They meet in person, take a vacation, move in together and decide if they will marry at the altar.
Three contestants are from central Ohio, including:
- Alex Henderson, 31, attended Olentangy High School, according to his LinkedIn profile
- DeVonta Anderson, named as Devo, 32, is from Wooster
- Amber Morrison, 34, is a primary care provider at Knox Community Hospital in Centerburg
One single, Connor Spies, a 32-year-old Cincinnati-based enterprise account manager said in his biography he needs a woman who will take trips to Grandpa’s Cheesebarn in Ashland.
“‘It’s exactly how it sounds,’ Connor says about his family’s summer tradition to visit the iconic Ohio establishment. All he needs is a ‘ride-or-die’ partner by his side,” the bio reads.
Henderson was a former goalkeeper for Minnesota United, but knee complications and surgeries cut his athletic career short, his bio reads.
His LinkedIn profile shows Henderson is director of digital media at Ologie, a Columbus-based advertising agency.
Anderson is a loan officer for Rocket Mortgage, serving Massillon, according to his Rocket Mortgage profile.
“Devo spends most of his time watching or talking about basketball, football, or really whatever else is on. If his future partner is willing to put up with his game-day obsession, then Devo will cheer her on from the sidelines for life,” according to Anderson’s bio.
He seeks a partner with good communication skills and someone who is ready for marriage.
Morrison is a mom to a 7-year-old daughter, and is looking for a ‘supportive and loyal man to join their family,’ according to her bio.
The candidates were screened from their applications, which includes answering nearly 70 questions about themselves and submitting a 15‑second video explaining why they want to try finding love in the pods, according to a Columbus Dispatch article.
After the first round of screening, candidates must also undergo a phone interview, a Zoom interview and a compatibility questionnaire, according to the article.
The reality show episodes will release every Wednesday on Netflix.
