ASHLAND — It’s never too early to dream of summer.
Between the bitter cold and snow residents in north central Ohio have endured for the past few weeks, thoughts of sunshine and the smell of sunscreen are sometimes the only things offering hope.
Alas, the time has come for Ashland residents wanting to get a jump on their poolside plans for this summer. Brookside Pool 2026 season passes are now on sale for preseason rates at the city of Ashland finance office, located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 206 Claremont Ave.
The finance office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The final day to purchase preseason pool passes will be May 21 by 4 p.m. Opening day at Brookside Pool is currently set for May 23.
Hours for the 2026 season include Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
Below is information about what passes are available for purchase:

Each pass may include additional fees for purchasers who do not live in Ashland County.
For a family pass, $40 is added for non-Ashland County families. For the three other pass options, $15 is added to the cost for purchasers outside of the county.
A family pass accommodates five people. For each additional family member past five, $20 is added to the cost of the pass. Applications can be found here.
Daily rates for the 2026 season are as follows: $5 for an adult, $4 for youth ages 10 to 15, $3 for children ages 4 to 9 and $2 for non-swimming adult caregivers. Splash passes — punch cards good for 10 visits to the pool — can be purchased for $40.
Dates and times for swim lessons have not been announced yet.
Brookside Pool is located at 209 Parkside Drive in Ashland.
