PLYMOUTH — A Willard woman was killed and three others hurt on Monday afternoon as a result of a four-vehicle crash in Plymouth, according to the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Ruth Pridemore suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at
the scene, the Patrol stated.

Michael Sexton, 55, of Shiloh, Gurpreet Singh, 35, of Perrysburg, and Brian Mock, 50, of Crestline, all sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash but were not transported from the scene for medical care.

The incident took place at 1:28 p.m. on State Route 61 near milepost one in the Huron County section of Plymouth.

The preliminary investigation showed that at the time of the crash, work was being done on the east side of State Route 61 that required a flagger present to control traffic.

Due to this roadwork, a 2017 Ram 1500 pickup truck, operated by Sexton was stopped in the northbound lane. A 2025 Toyota Rav 4, operated by Singh, was stopped directly behind the Ram pickup.

The third vehicle, a 2024 Hyundai Tucson, operated by Pridemore was slowing down approaching the two stopped vehicles. The fourth vehicle, a 2018 Ford F150, operated by Mock struck the Hyundai Tucson in the rear, causing that vehicle to strike the Toyota Rav 4 in the rear, which then struck the Ram 1500 in the rear.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, The Huron County Coroner’s Office, Secor Funeral Home, Wilcox Garage, and Clark Brother’s Towing.

The incident remains under investigation.
