NANKIN — On May 1st, 2026 three members of the Mapleton FFA Chapter were recognized for one of the organization’s highest honors — the State FFA Degree.

Seniors Hallee Kamentz and Kendall Ramey, along with junior Danielle Stemen, each earned this prestigious award through years of dedication, record keeping, and hands-on agricultural experience.

The State FFA Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated significant commitment to their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, leadership, and involvement in FFA activities.

Each recipient has invested countless hours developing skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Kendall Ramey earned her degree through her work in livestock production and the poultry industry. She has raised breeding sheep for local 4-H and FFA families while also gaining valuable industry experience working at Meyer Hatchery. Her project reflects both entrepreneurship and a strong understanding of animal agriculture.

Danielle Stemen built her SAE around plant science and greenhouse production. She has successfully grown and sold mums and spring flowers from her home greenhouse, managing everything from production to marketing. Her project highlights both her work ethic and her ability to operate a small business.

Hallee Kamentz took a different approach, focusing on the business side of agriculture.

Through her work with Spencer Investments, she gained hands-on experience in accounting and financial management.

Her SAE demonstrates the wide range of opportunities available within the agriculture industry beyond traditional production roles.

The Mapleton FFA Chapter is proud of Hallee, Kendall, and Danielle for their outstanding achievements and the example they set for younger members.

Their success reflects the strength of agricultural education and the opportunities it provides for students to explore their passions and build real-world skills.
