ASHLAND — Officer Emily Borling officially became a member of the Ashland Division of Police in March.

She has hit the streets running and demonstrated her commitment to keeping Ashland safe in the June session of the Ashland County Grand Jury.

She had three of her cases reviewed for felony charges, which resulted in charges for domestic violence, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine.

Law enforcement officers who have three or more of their cases presented in a single Grand Jury session are awarded a duck by Ashland Prosecuting Attorney Christopher R. Tunnell in recognition for their outstanding effort.

Tunnell explained, “It’s not easy getting a case to grand jury. The evidence needs to be complete and requires an officer to be thorough. Getting three or more before a Grand Jury is an extreme achievement, especially for a road officer. The officers on road patrol run from call to call so their time is limited.

“Officer Borling has done a great job with these cases. We are all safer for having her out there.”
