Severe weather is in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

MANSFIELD — The good-news, bad-news weather report has a predictably scattershot forecast for Saturday, according to the National Weather Weather Service.

The good news is that precipitation and high wind could roll through north central Ohio and dissipate the smoky air that has engulfed the region the past couple of days via the Canadian wildfires.

The bad news is that forecast also means there is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms generally north and east of a line stretching from Port Clinton to Canton for Saturday.

According to the NWS, strong to severe thunderstorms are likely Saturday late afternoon into early Saturday night.

The best chances are from portions of north central Ohio, across northeast Ohio and into
northwest Pennsylvania.

All severe weather hazards are possible with damaging winds the most likely scenario.

Storms may produce heavy rainfall and possibly localized flash flooding.
