ASHLAND — The planned “Let’s Glow Golfing” event scheduled Friday evening has been postponed until July 30 due to potential inclement weather.
The outing will be at Brookside Golf Course during the same time frame — 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Powerful thunderstorms are predicted to roll through Ashland tomorrow afternoon, with possible damaging. The City of Ashland’s event is generally well attended by community members and several hundred children were expected to participate.
“Because there are thunderstorms on the forecast for tomorrow, we have made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s event,” Community Outreach Coordinator Amanda Patterson said. “We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are looking forward to the rescheduled Let’s Glow Golfing event on July 30.
“We will continue to provide updates for participants and volunteers on our city’s website and social media pages.”
Let’s Glow Golfing is free for children ages 4 to 15 and family members are welcome to attend, as well. Participants are adorned with glowsticks and various glow-in-the-dark apparel while they enjoy a unique experience at Ashland’s public golf course.
Community members can continue to monitor updates regarding the event on the city of Ashland’s website.
