ASHLAND — Ashland Source’s Dillon Carr joined WRDL The Early Bird’s Word hosts Nicholas Stupka and Brandon Gunder on Thursday to talk about the latest local news.

In this week’s show, Carr highlighted the latest installment of Neighbor Spotlight, a feature on one of Ashland area’s citizens doing extraordinary things. In November, that was Bonnie Zimmerman, an 86 year-young woman who’s held the same part-time job for 50 years and been a member at the same church for 71 years.

He then talked about the latest political announcement: Matt Young, a Loudonville Village Councilman, announced earlier this week he will run for a seat on the Ohio House of Representatives.

Carr also highlighted two holiday-related projects Source Media has embarked on for December. One of them is asking people to submit a paragraph or two describing their favorite holiday tradition.

The other asks choir directors from area schools to submit a video of their choir performing a holiday-themed song.

An Ashland Source staff member features top stories from the last week every Thursday morning on WRDL’s The Early Bird’s Word.
