ASHLAND – Appleseed Community Mental Health Center (“Appleseed”) is helping celebrate this year’s Social Work Month in March with the 2022 theme “The Time is Right for Social Work” to highlight how social workers have enriched our society for more than a century and how their services continue be needed today.
Appleseed walks with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance use disorder, and victim services.
People become social workers because they have a strong desire to help others and make our community a better place to live. Social workers touch millions of lives each day and it is likely a social worker at some time will assist you, a family member, or a friend.
For example, are you living with depression, anxiety, or a substance use disorder? A social worker can help you overcome and thrive. Do you want a better relationship with your spouse, partner, children, or parents?
A social worker can help you forge stronger connections.
Social workers also continue to work on the frontlines throughout the pandemic, helping clients get the health care they need and helping loved ones overcome grief and loss.
Social workers will continue to play a key role in helping people as this nation grapples with issues such as racism, economic uncertainty, deep political and cultural differences, and natural disasters.
Each year, social workers at Appleseed serve thousands of Ashland County residents so they can live healthy, whole, and productive lives.
However, social workers need your support, too. There is a shortage of social workers in community mental health centers, schools, and other sectors across the community and nation where they are vitally needed.
During Social Work Month, we urge you to learn more about our amazing programs, thank the social workers in your lives, and help support the profession. For more information about Appleseed Community Mental Health Center’s services, open positions, and ways you can support the mission visit:
