Writers should limit letters to 500 words or less, although there is some leeway here.
A writer cannot submit more than one letter to the editor per month.
No profanity, vulgarity or libelous claims, etc.
We will not publish a personal issue with a business (I bought a garage door opener at Company X, it doesn’t work and they won’t give me my money back). We do not get into he-said, she-said situations between individuals, particularly relationships and/or child custody cases.
No election-related letters will be published within a week of the election.
All letters and editorial decisions are subject to approval from the publishing team at Ashland Source.

I am really baffled by how ppl get so worked up about the Marijuana issues. How many times has anyone EVER read in paper or wherever a headline saying ” guy high on Marijuana kills family of 5″ but i bet almost everybody has heard drinking and driving was cause of this or that…a lot of of sexual offenses are cause someone had been drinking. And i bring this up cause our city council is giving these vape stores hard time while right in middle of your story we are having Ale fest downtown soon. Im not against either by the way or for…im just wondering how we as a society be so ignorant. We celebrate something that i bet every person alive has bad story bout but try to say Marijuana is soooo bad really by what standard. People really need to stop and think about things cause its embarrassing if you stop and think about. I know LOTS ppl killed from drinking involved somehow. Ive never heard anyone dying with Marijuana involved. Just saying wake up people.
