LOUDONVILLE – Loudonville and the Mohican Area will celebrate Independence Day weekend with a shopping event, a car show, outdoor entertainment and fireworks.
“The 4th of July weekend in Loudonville has always been special,”said Georgia Kaufmann, Executive Director of the Mohican Visitors Bureau. “Last year, one visitor described the Mohican area as ‘Small town charm, welcoming, fun and ends with best big bang!’ The independent stores, attractions and restaurants offer all of the visitors a chance to come and see for themselves what makes this part of Ohio so special.”
The fun begins Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2, with the Shop Loudonville event, featuring an antique festival, food vendors and more. The antique festival in Central Park runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 2.
The 16th Annual Loudonville Car Show, rated No. 1 by Cruisin’ Times Magazine, returns on Saturday, July 2. More than 500 cars from all eras, makes and models will roll into town for the show. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. Advanced registration and registration fees are required for cars in the show.
For book lovers, the Friends of the Library book sale will be in the lower level of the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Saturday night will end with a concert beginning at 7:45 p.m. at Riverside Park. Local favorite The Twang Cats will perform the pre-fireworks show. At dusk, the Zambellis will put on a wonderful fireworks display.
“We hope everyone can come and have a great time,” Kaufmann said.
