ASHLAND — Ashland Police discovered drug paraphernalia totaling approximately $36,000 while responding to a call in the 1000 block of Priscilla Lane, according to a news release.
Authorities were asked to check on the welfare of the resident after a family member called police regarding concerns over the man’s behavior. Upon arrival officers made contact with Jeffrey Wright, 34, at his home. Officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the residence.
A consent search led to the discovery of drugs inside the home. APD detectives were called to the scene and the residence was secured until a search warrant was obtained.
Later in the day a search warrant, signed by acting Municipal Court Judge Tom Budd, was executed at the home by APD officers and detectives assigned to the METRICH Drug Task Force.
During the search, police seized over 90 grams of suspected powder cocaine, approximately 20 grams of suspected ketamine, approximately 500 hits of LSD, 100 grams of suspected MDMA, ecstasy pills, six sheets of THC dabs, several servings of chocolate-covered psilocybin mushrooms, and approximately 200 grams of packaged, high-grade marijuana, according to the release.
The suspected street value of the recovered controlled substances totaled approximately $36,000. Police also seized paraphernalia, evidence of drug trafficking, and approximately $7,800 in cash.
