Diana (Beanie) Johnson age 62 of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2023
Born in Ashland on December 1, 1961 the daughter of Robert and Jeanette (McCormic) Grosscup, she was an Ashland resident all of her life. Diana worked for Bayer Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Oncology Sales Consultant.
Diana was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1980.
On August 30th,1980 she married the love of her life Daniel Johnson who survives. Beanie was a jubilant woman who loved life and never met a stranger. She made every person she encountered feel like her best friend. The tenacity with everything she did throughout her life was unmatchable. Beanie was the glue that held everyone together and she was in your corner whenever anyone needed help. Her uncanny way of ‘telling it like it is’ was a trait of hers we all grew to love.
Diana’s early career journey spans over 30 years, coined ‘The Tupperware Lady,’ ultimately achieving the title of Legacy Director in her own franchise, ‘Riveting Sales’. Transitioning to a new chapter, she completed a personal dream in nursing at The Ohio University, earning her BSN. In the realm of oncology at The Cleveland Clinic, Diana emerged as a fierce advocate for patients, infusing passion and purpose into her nursing career. Beyond the bedside, she played a pivotal role in creating ‘The Chemosabes,’ a fundraising force for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, generating substantial contributions. Simultaneously, Diana’s commitment extended to board membership, in a variety of roles, for the Cleveland Oncology Nurses Society (CleONS), reflecting her unwavering dedication to making a lasting impact.
In addition to her husband Dan she is survived by two siblings; Sherry (Mark) Zarnstorff of Ashland and John (Connie) Grosscup of Ashland. As well as two children; Heath (Kelby) Johnson of Ashland and Hillary (Jim) Heydinger of Ashland. She is also survived by grandchildren; Jaden Nell, Dice Johnson, Beck Heydinger, Kelsey (Colton) Maynard, and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four infant siblings.
A celebration of Diana’s life will be held at the New Life Community Church, 1489 State Route 511, Ashland, Ohio 44805 at 3:00 pm on Saturday December 30. 2023 with Associate Pastor Joe Grubbs officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the New Life Community Church on Friday December 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and also from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday before the service.
