Scriptless in Seattle will appear Feb. 17 at The Ashland.

ASHLAND – Scriptless in Seattle, live touring comedy show, has added Ashland to its 2024 tour route. Scriptless in Seattle is presented at the Ashland Theatre.

This show has never been performed before and will never be performed again. Every line, sound, and motion is made up entirely on the spot. The show itself is unique, even among improvised theatre.

The event will be held at The Ashland Theatre at 7 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 17. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at ScriptlessInSeattle.com.

“This is not your typical improv comedy show.” says tour manager and frontman Justin Folger. “We write multi-song musicals on the fly — never knowing when the music is going to start!”

Folger has been performing with and managing Scriptless in Seattle for five years.

“It’s special what we do, because it’s never the same show — ever. It is always fresh, as we discover it at the same time you do,” Folger said. “I’ve done four shows in one day before (in four separate states) not one of them was even similar.

“That’s the beauty of Scriptless in Seattle. Every show we put on is brand new, every time.”

The people of Ashland should expect high-quality family-friendly entertainment, says Charlie Hubbell, comedian with Scriptless in Seattle.

“We take suggestions from the audience and use them to create improvised musicals, film noirs, game shows, and we’ll even serenade individual members of the audience — all composed on the spot,” Hubbell said.

The group draws inspiration from the hit British and American TV show, Whose Line is it Anyway?

Many of the sketches will be familiar to audience members familiar with the show.

“If you like ‘Whose Line,’ you’re in for a real treat,” Hubbell said.

Scriptless in Seattle fills a unique niche of family-friendly improvised sketch comedy, in settings unique to the craft.

This national tour includes stops in Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, New York, West Virginia, and more.

Scriptless in Seattle is a young improv comedy group touring the Midwest and mid-Atlantic.

Putting on shows in a wide variety of venues, from coffee houses to churches to large theaters, the group can fill any space. Reminiscent of “Whose Line is it Anyway?”

Scriptless in Seattle combines classic improv games with fresh takes and new spins. Scriptless in Seattle’s sketches are made-up on the spot based on audience suggestions, so no two shows are the same.

In other words, the script is you.
