ASHLAND — After announcing his resignation from the Ashland City Schools Board of Education at a work session earlier this month, the board approved Rob Wash’s resignation at its Monday meeting.
Wash, an insurance agent and co-owner of Spreng-Smith Insurance Agency, announced he’d be stepping down thanks to a conflict of interest on March 11.
The board voted 4-0, with Wash abstaining, for his resignation to go into effect June 1.
Wash won election to the board in November 2023, and his term extends through Dec. 31, 2027.
After voting to approve Wash’s resignation, board president John Teevan read a statement laying out the process for replacing him.
He said anyone interested in Wash’s position should submit a letter of interest and resumé to Raelee Crunkilton. Crunkilton works as the superintendent’s secretary.
He said anyone interested in Wash’s position should submit a letter of interest and resumé to Raelee Crunkilton, who works as the superintendent’s secretary. They can be sent to Crunkilton via email (rabennet@goarrows.org) or through the mail (1407 Claremont Ave.).
Those letters of interest and resumés will be accepted through 4 p.m. on April 19, Teevan said.
The board will then conduct interviews and select Wash’s replacement, who will serve through the end of Wash’s term. If they want to continue on the board beyond 2027, they’ll have to run for election in November 2027.
