Randall Clyde Reid, aged 71, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, April 15, 2024.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mildred and Richard Reid, sister, Shirley ‘Sug’ Calhoun, and two brothers, Donald Reid, and Richard ‘Dickie’ Reid.
Born on September 21, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio, Randy, also known as ‘Rotten Randall,’ enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding his Harley Davidson with his best friend and wife of over 40 years, thrifting, collecting antiques, gardening, music, playing piano, painting, and traveling. Some of his favorite trips included traveling to the Philippines, Puerto Rico, New York, and Texas.
Randall was drafted, and served in the United States Army, A Company 2nd Battalion 32nd Armor Division as an Armored Crewman (Tanker), with a secondary MOS as a Metal Body Repairman. He would spend most of his life as an autobody technician.
Honorably discharged, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Marksmanship on the M16 weapon system. He often referred to his army years as some of the best of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie ‘Vic, Oh Vic’ Reid, four daughters, Heather ‘Foo’ Matson (Shane), Rachel ‘Bulldog Annie’ Owens (Brad), Renee ‘Snippy Doodle’ Ramirez (Carlos), and Emily ‘Emmy Lou’ Molina (Angel), 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Carol Stefan (John), and brother, James ‘Smoke’ Reid (Bobbi).
Randall will be greatly missed and will be receiving military honors during a graveside service at a later date.
