JEROMESVILLE — The road to the Wellington district title may as well be a minefield.

There is danger at every turn.

Hillsdale (15-3), Manchester (14-4), Loudonville (13-5), Tuslaw (10-5) and Keystone (13-5) all will be in contention for a Wellington district crown. The Falcons earned the No. 2 seed, while the Redbirds are No. 4.

Hillsdale took a first-round bye and will host either No. 17 Fairless or No. 22 Orrville in a sectional championship game at 5 p.m. May 9.

A win would send the Falcons into the district semifinals, where they could potentially run into Keystone. The Wildcats are the No. 7 seed and will host No. 20 Waterloo in a sectional final at 5 p.m. May 9.

Keystone knocked Hillsdale from the tournament in the district finals last year. The teams met earlier this season with the Falcons rallying for a 7-6 win.

Loudonville earned the No. 4 seed in the same district and also took a bye. The Redbirds will host either No. 6 Tuslaw or No. 21 Garfield Heights Trinity at 5 p.m. May 9.

Mapleton earned the No. 5 seed and slotted into the Norwayne district. The Mounties have a first-round bye and will host either No. 10 Chippewa or No. 11 Dalton in a sectional championship game at 5 p.m. May 9.

In northwest Ohio, Crestview earned the No. 2 seed in the Division III Shelby district and took a first-round bye.

The Cougars will host a sectional championship game at 5 p.m. May 10. Crestview awaits the winner of the sectional semifinal game between No. 6 Galion and No. 8 Colonel Crawford.

The Tigers host the Eagles at 5 p.m. May 7.

No. 7 Wynford will visit No. 5 Edison at 5 p.m. May 7.

Division I

Ashland picked up the No. 18 seed in northwest Ohio and is in the Clyde district. The Arrows will visit No. 4 Toledo Whitmer for a sectional final game at 5 p.m. May 8.

Madison earned the No. 6 seed and slotted into the Division I Bowling Green district. The Rams will host No. 9 Oregon Clay in a sectional championship game at 5 p.m. May 8.
