JEROMESVILLE — The Hillsdale FFA Officer team took its retreat on June 5 and 6 in Hocking Hills.

The officers for this year are President: Dally Meek; Vice President: Baylee Weber; Secretary: Maci Atterholt; Treasurer: Reed Twining; Reporter: Jillian Cowger; Sentinel: Ava Bolen; Student Advisor: Emma Linder.

They started the retreat at Hillsdale High School by working together to complete a scavenger hunt, which led them to the ag room. Once they reached their final destination, Shelli Fridenstine was waiting for them to teach the team the importance of teamwork, communication, and knowing your audience.

Afterward, they packed up the van and headed to Raising Canes for lunch. The long van ride to Hocking Hills allowed time for the team to learn more about each other.

Once at the cabin, they settled in and began planning for the upcoming school year. The team then had a formal dinner at the restaurant 58 West in Logan, Ohio. Later, team pictures were taken in official dress. The activity planning continued that night.

The next morning, Thursday, June 6th, the team woke up early to make breakfast for each other before wrapping up their discussions about issues and the upcoming year. The rest of the day consisted of team bonding activities such as hiking and successfully completing an escape room.

The retreat concluded with dinner at Piada Italian Street Food, and reviewing all they accomplished in the past two days. This officer team is filled with enthusiasm and are optimistic about the upcoming year.
