George Erich Buscher, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home July 31, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to George E and Irma B Buscher (nee Raschke) on August 17, 1948. George graduated from Collinwood High School in 1967. Following his graduation, George enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and served on the USS Bennington followed USS Kittyhawk, achieving rank of Em3.
George married the love of his life, Cathy Miller, on July 24, 1976. He worked for GTE until it merged with Verizon for more than thirty years.
He survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cathy Buscher of Ashland, daughters Laura (Walter) Schilling and Julie (John) Ihrig, granddaughters Liesel and Katharina Schilling, and sisters Kathy Novosel, Charlotte Spinella, and Peggy Buscher. Friends and family may call at 6:00 pm on Wednesday Aug 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland. Memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm.
