MANSFIELD — North central Ohio’s top programs showed out during this week’s sectional tournaments.

Lexington, Ashland and Crestview qualified for district play as teams, while a handful of others just missed the cut. Here’s a look at this week’s sectional results:

Division I

Lexington shot a 336 to finish second at the Division I Sycamore Springs sectional as sophomore Jackson Durchik claimed medalist honors with a 74. 

The top five teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to next week’s district tournament at Shawnee County Club in Lima. 

Nathan Dawson backed Durchik with an 84 for Lex. Griffin Hughes (88), Daulton Mangas (90) and Bailey Carmichael (92) rounded out the scorers for the Minutemen.

Ashland grabbed the fifth and final district-qualifying spot with a 343. Reed Emmons (78) led the Arrows, followed by Ryan Eberling (83), Landon Dreibelbis (89), Ty Bates (93) and Ty Ellis (96). 

Madison just missed qualifying with a team total of 344 to finish sixth. Josh Maglott tied for third overall with a 78 to grab one of the individual qualifying bids. Liam Stone and Nicholas Maglott fired 87s, while Landon Goad carded a 92 and Lincoln Shepherd had a 97.

Division II

Clear Fork narrowly missed qualifying as a team at the highly-competitive Division II Woussicket sectional in Sandusky.

The Colts shot a 320 to finish fourth, three strokes behind sectional champ Clyde (317). Bellevue (318) was second and Vermilion (319) was third. 

The top three teams and top four individuals advanced to next week’s district at Maumee Bay.

Clear Fork’s Landon Ball punched his ticket to district after carding a 74. The junior tied for medalist honors with Bellevue’s Tyson Baptista and Clyde’s Joshua Swartz. 

Grant Keep backed Ball with an 81 for the Colts. Xander Cyphers shot an 82, while Clinton Stallard had an 83 and Tanner Thorne shot an 84.

Galion finished fifth in the team standings with a 325. A pair of Tigers, Parker Tinch and Nate McMullen, picked up individual district-qualifying bids. Tinch shot a 76, while McMullen carded a 78. Carson Walker (82), Cullen Hart (89) and Jack Rinehart (91) rounded out the scoring for Galion.

Shelby finished eighth with a 348. Grady Schroeder led the Whippets with an 81, followed by Blake West, Braden Palm and Ryan Boggs with matching 89s and Thomas Lenahan with a 91.

Ontario finished ninth with a 356. Mason Turnbaugh led the Warriors with an 80, followed by Kolbe Ramion (88), Cameron Bulakovski (90) Raiden Rhinehart (98) and Colton Blevins (100).

Division III

Crestview won the Division III sectional championship at Valley View. The Cougars shots a 339, led by co-medalist Carter Bowman’s 75. 

The top three teams and top three individuals advanced to next week’s district at Stone Ridge in Bowling Green.

Cole Bowman was next for Crestview with an 80. Kaden Dickerson (90), Kayn Patton (94) and Zander Washburn (100) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars.

Plymouth finished eight with a 393. Colton Hass led the Big Red with an 85, followed by Cole Back (97), Caron Lewis (103), Lucas Distl (108) and Trevor Furr (134).

St. Peter’s finished 10th with  423. David Crundwell (86), Carter Fesler (99), Jack Thompson (110), Quinn Chamberlin (128) and Joshua Laux (142) teed it up for the Spartans.
