JEROMESVILLE — Hillsdale sophomore Kael Lewis turned in a dynamite passing performance to help his Falcons remain in flight in the Division VII, Region 25 football playoffs.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound sophomore completed 13-of-17 passes for a whopping 351 yards and four touchdowns in a 43-14 beating of seventh-seeded Windham on Friday night.

His favorite target was junior Hayden McFadden, who caught 10 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns.

It didn’t take Lewis long to show what kind of night it would be. The lanky gunslinger hit McFadden for a 98-yard touchdown early in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead. That was the primer on a wild first quarter.

Owen Sloan scored on a 3-yard run and Lewis tossed TD passes of 35 yards to McFadden and 16 yards to Holland Young. That made it 29-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second period, Lewis lofted a 96-yard scoring strike to McFadden, his third TD catch of the night, for a 36-0 halftime bulge.

The second half began with a running clock. Sloan scored on a 3-yard bolt to make it 43-0 with 4:15 showing in the third quarter.

Windham got a 65-yard kickoff return from Carlos Bruton to pull within 43-6 heading to the final period.

Bruton’s 51-yard TD dash and ensuing two-point conversion accounted for the final score.

The Bombers finished the season 10-2.

Second-seeded Hillsdale will take an 11-1 record into next week’s game with third-seeded Malvern (11-1). The Hornets hammered Lowellville 42-14 on Friday night.

The site of next week’s matchup will be announced on Sunday by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
