MANSFIELD– Winter is approaching, and the team at Snow Trails ski resort has been hard at work during the offseason making exciting improvements both on and off the slopes to kick off its 64th season.

Winter enthusiasts can look forward to enhancements across the resort, with snowmaking capabilities and LED lighting upgrades to the debut of a new Rope Tow and a refreshed dining experience.

Here are a few of the improvements ski enthusiasts can look forward to for the 2024/2025 Winter season.

New rope tow at Terrain Park

Snow Trails will introduce its 600-foot-long Rope Tow this season. Climbing 140 feet of elevation, it’s the only Rope Tow in Ohio and a much-anticipated addition for Terrain Park skiers and snowboarders.

This new feature allows skiers more convenience and greater slope time on advanced terrain in The Woods Terrain Park. Construction is currently wrapping up, with a completion date to be announced for this season.

Enhanced Snowmaking System

Snow Trails continues to invest in its robust snowmaking system. To ensure maximum snow coverage and excellent snow surface conditions all season long, the resort has added nine new SMI Super Pole Cat Snowmakers to its fleet.

It has also upgraded the snowmaking wire and pipe system on the Mt. Mansfield trail. These enhancements allow the resort to boost snowmaking production capacity during pre-season and in-season cold snaps for top-tier slope coverage all season long.

Snow Trails typically starts its first snowmaking campaign around Thanksgiving weekend, based on opportune weather conditions.

LED lighting upgrades

Skiers and snowboarders can look forward to optimum night skiing this winter.

Snow Trails has installed (28) new energy-efficient LED lights on its X-Over trails, the lower Alpine trail, and the new Rope Tow area. These upgrades ensure well-lit slopes for nighttime fun and enhanced visibility.

Lucky’s Cafeteria remodeled

Guests will enjoy a refreshed dining experience at Lucky’s cafeteria this season. Lucky’s has been remodeled to include an open floor plan, updated countertops, improved drink stations, and a new stairway.

The changes are designed to provide families an inviting grab and go experience with greater convenience for a quick refresh between runs.

Facility & parking lot improvements

From paving the Tubing Parking Lot to routine maintenance of Snow Cat groomers and chairlifts, Snow Trails remains committed to maintaining top-notch
facilities. These upgrades ensure a seamless and enjoyable visit.
