CLYDE — Crestview was its own worst enemy Friday night.

The second-seeded Cougars outhit top-seeded Oak Harbor, but committed five errors in a 4-1 loss in the Division V district championship game in Clyde.

All four Oak Harbor runs were unearned.

The Rockets scored a run in the home half of first and added two in the second to take a 3-0 lead.

Morgan Lalonde doubled in a run in the first. Kaitlyn Meloche had a pair of doubles and drove in a run, while Ava Geyer and Tatum Baumgartner each doubled. Haylee Robinson added a triple as six of Oak Harbor’s seven hits went for extra-bases.

Crestview scored its only run in the top of the seventh on Chesnie Patton’s RBI-double. Patton was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Kalee Hamman was 2-for-4, while Bella Hillman singled and scored.

Patton took the loss, giving up two hits and three unearned runs in two innings. Hamman worked four innings of relief, allowing four hits and an unearned run.
