CENTERBURG — He may not leap tall buildings in a single bound, but Centerburg’s Daniel Lemaster looked a lot like Superman this spring.

The North Central Ohio Pitcher of the Year led the Trojans to an outright Knox Morrow Athletic Conference crown and a district championship. The senior right-hander was 12-2 with a 1.12 earned run average and a whopping 174 strikeouts in 86.2 innings of work.

In his 15 starts this spring, Lemaster threw 1,381 pitches. He averaged more than 92 pitches per start and slightly more than two strikeouts per inning.

The Mount Union-bound Lemaster fired a no-hitter against Danville in a 7-0 win on April 11. He threw six one-hitters, all Centerburg victories.

The Trojans (17-10) reached the Division V regional semifinals before falling to eventual regional champ Coldwater 7-0 in Elida. Lemaster allowed four hits and three earned runs in the loss while striking out eight.

The KMAC Player of the Year and an All-Ohio first-teamer, Lemaster is the ace of a five-man rotation that was a combined 37-11 with 442 strikeouts in 286 innings. Here’s a look at the rest of the rotation:
