Bobette “Bobbi” Miller, 101 of Ashland passed away on Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2025 in Brookwood Place at Brethren Care Village with her family by her side.
She was born on November 21, 1923 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edward C. and Naomi (nee Welsh) McManaway.
Bobbi graduated from Logansport High School, Class of 1942. She and her family relocated to Ashland, Ohio in 1944. Having relocated to Ashland during the war, Bobbi made quick friends with many women who were caring for their families while their husbands were serving their country. These relationships have lasted the true test of time.
Bobbi retired after 20 years from Ashland College in 1978 where she proudly worked in the registrar’s office. She married Harold Gene Miller on June 18, 1977. Together they would call Ashland home.
Bobbi was a member of the Paradise Hill Church and Al-Anon Club in support of her husband. She enjoyed playing golf, party bridge, and cards with her girlfriends. Bobbi loved to square dance and travel to all 50 states with her husband Gene.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son, Carolyn (Donald) Hyne and Pat Marshall; four grandchildren, Mary Beth (Thomas) Bilinovich, Shannon Marshall, Nathanael (Jessie) Marshall and Jewelionna Snyder; three great grandchildren, T. Cody (Anna) Bilinovich, Jacob Bilinovich, and Hutson Marshall; and a great-great grandson, Silas J. Bilinovich; nieces, Amy, Jodi and Jill, and nephew, Ed.
In addition to her parents, Bobbi is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Gene Miller who passed away on March 13, 2024; two sisters, Mary (Donald) McMurray and Rita Ann (Earl) Kilchenman; and her previous spouse, Franklin Marshall.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Layton Broome presiding. Family and friends may visit after the ceremony in the Legacy Room where refreshments will be served.
The family wishes to thank the ENTIRE staff at Brookwood Place for their loving and excellent care of Bobbi.
