ASHLAND — Trick or treat came early for thousands of children who lined both sides of Main Street in Ashland on Tuesday.

Downtown establishments and Ashland officials passed out candy for the annual Costume Capers event, organized by Ashland Main Street.

Main Street closed between Claremont Avenue and Center Street for the two-hour event.
