I Ohio Voting

ASHLAND — Final unofficial results from the Ashland County Board of Elections show a little more than a quarter of registered voters turned out for Election Day.

Board of elections numbers show 9,411 voters cast ballots across the county, or 28 percent.

About 27 percent of those votes came in the form of early voting, according to board of elections data.

The county’s 15 townships and eight villages empaneled new trustees and council members. The city of Ashland elected Angela Woodward for another term. She beat her opponent by a nearly 45-percent margin.

All but one of the 18 tax levies — whether renewal, replacement or additional — passed. An additional 1.3 mill levy in Jeromesville remains a tie with 43 for and against.

Four of the county’s school districts elected new board members, though results from other county boards of election trickled into the late night hours, making those races slow to call.

The board of elections will meet to certify the results of the election at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 17.
