ASHLAND — There were 13 people sentenced in October for felony convictions in Ashland County.

Ashland County Common Pleas Judge Dave Stimpert ordered the following sentences, unless otherwise noted.

Three people received ‘in lieu of conviction’ rulings

  • Isabel Massie, 23, of South Amherst, Ohio, received an ILC ruling that involves two years of supervision, three days of jail credit already served, drug and alcohol treatment, maintenance of sobriety and court costs. The ILC follows a conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. The case originated March 14.
  • Dylan Yeaples, 21, of Wellington, received an ILC ruling that involves two years of supervision, two days of jail credit already served, drug and alcohol treatment, maintenance of sobriety and court costs. The ILC follows a conviction of aggravated possession of a fentanyl-related compound and an OVI. The case originated July 10.
  • Sa’Quala Jackson, 19, of Grove City, received an ILC ruling that involves two years of supervision, 50 days of jail credit already served, drug and alcohol treatment, maintenance of sobriety and court costs. The ILC follows a conviction of aggravated possession of psilocybin. The case originated May 8.

One person sentenced Oct. 2

  • James Buchanon, 56, of Columbus, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms totaling one year following the conviction of two counts of forgery. Buchanon received 139 days of jail credit and also faces restitution and court costs. Upon release he’ll face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Feb. 12, 2024.

Four people sentenced Oct. 6

  • Raini Moss, 41, of Vermillion, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. Moss received 86 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Moss will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated June 13.
    • In a separate case, Moss received another six-month prison term following the conviction of a separate charge of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. It means Moss will spend a total of one year in prison, because the term will be served consecutively.
  • Javen House, 23, of Dayton, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms with a firearm spec for a total of 30 months following the conviction of failure to comply and complicity. The judge dismissed an additional count of failure to comply and complicity, upon motion by the state. House received 94 days of jail credit and also faces court costs and a three-year driver’s license suspension. Upon release, House will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Aug. 15.
  • Juwuan Leonard, 40, of Marion, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of identity fraud. Leonard received 180 days of jail credit. Upon release, Leonard will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Jan. 14, 2021.
  • Russell Norris, 41, of Ashland, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of possession of cocaine. The judge dismissed a count of theft, upon motion by the state. Norris received 163 days of jail credit. Upon release, Norris will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated April 3.

One person sentenced Oct. 14

  • Chelsey Larry, 26, of Flint, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of theft. Larry received 14 days of jail credit. Larry also faces court costs and restitution totaling $3,347.62. Upon release, Larry will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated May 8.

Four people sentenced Oct. 20

  • William Swiger, 45, of Akron, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. Prison time of six to 12 months was reserved and he received 26 days of jail credit. Swiger also faces court costs and the forfeiture of his vehicle. The case originated June 12.
  • Felice McMahon, 40, of Willseyville, New York, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of aggravated possession of methadone. Prison time of nine to 36 months was reserved and he received 11 days of jail credit. McMahon also faces court costs and a $5,000 fine. The case originated June 14. 2024.
  • Shaquan Moore, 29, of Mansfield, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms totaling four to 5.5 years following the conviction of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and tampering with evidence. Moore received three days of jail credit and also faces 18 months to three years of mandated post-release control, a $7,500 fine and court costs. The case originated March 13, 2024.
  • Jessica Skaggs, 29, of Massilon, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of aggravated possession of psilocybin (the psychoactive component in some mushrooms). The judge reserved nine to 36 months of prison time. Skaggs received two days of jail credit and faces court costs. The case originated Dec. 19, 2024.

One person sentenced on Oct. 21

  • Benjamyn Pearson, 27, of Fremont, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms totaling 18 months following the conviction of failure to comply and possession of cocaine. Pearson received 67 days of jail credit. He also faces a five-year driver’s license suspension, court costs and optional post-release control of two years. The case originated Aug. 18.

Three people sentenced Oct. 27

  • Adam Bursley, 35, of Mansfield, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of strangulation. The judge reserved six to 18 months of prison time. The judge dismissed another count of strangulation and a count of domestic violence, upon motion by the state. He received five days of jail credit. He also faces court costs and a $500 fine. The case originated May 19.
  • Jacob Jones, 48, of Wooster, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. The judge reserved six to 12 months of prison time. Jones received 13 days of jail credit. He also faces court costs and a $250 fine. The case originated June 9, 2023.
  • Kayleigh Sheriff, 30, of Mansfield, was sentenced to two years of community control following the conviction of disrupting public services and two counts of domestic violence. The judge reserved six to 18 months of prison time. She received 14 days of jail credit. She also faces court costs and a $250 fine. The case originated June 5.
