Duane E. Fulk, 80, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in The Good Shepherd hospice care, with family by his side.
Duane was born on October 28, 1945, in Ashland, Ohio to the late Howard and Leona (nee Brown) Fulk. He graduated from Union High School in 1963. Duane enlisted in the United States Navy on August 26, 1964, and served for three years.
Following his time in the Navy, he served in the Ohio Air National Guard for 28 years. Duane worked for General Telephone and the Ohio Air National Guard in communications.
Duane and Janet (nee Collins) were married on July 20, 1980, and enjoyed over 45 years together.
Duane was a former member of the Evening Lions where he proudly facilitated hearing and vision testing in the elementary schools throughout Ashland.
Duane had an optimistic attitude and gave positive encouragement to many. He was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. Duane was the proud father of Heather and Bryan and never missed an opportunity to record their participation in various activities. He lovingly carried that tradition on with his grandchildren, attending their sporting and musical events. He enjoyed taking family trips and treasured being surrounded by his loved ones. Duane also enjoyed movies and reading. He would often gift his family and friends DVDs of his favorite movies and music.
Duane will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet Fulk of Ashland, son Bryan Fulk (girlfriend Jenna Bogorad) of Los Angeles, California, son-in-law Quinn Conley of West Salem, grandchildren Jacob Ebert (girlfriend Jennie Riffle) and Justin Ebert of Ashland, Kate Conley and Quinn Conley of Medina, brother Dennis (Becky) Fulk of Ashland, sister Donna (Steve) Jackson of Delaware, Ohio, and sisters-in-law Donna Fulk of Ashland and Rachel Hall of Cumberland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his daughter Heather Conley, brother Doyle Fulk, brother-in-law Doug Hall, and niece Diann Fulk.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center St., Ashland, Ohio 44805, with Vicar Derek Kubilus and Rev. Toni McKee officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery with military honors given by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
