ASHLAND — The North Central Workforce Alliance will celebrate 10 years of strengthening the regional workforce with a special anniversary event on April 15.
Set for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mount Vernon Estates Events, 1041 US-250, the event will feature Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel as the guest speaker and will bring together regional employers, workforce leaders, educators and community partners to recognize a decade of collaboration and progress in workforce development.
Over the past 10 years, the North Central Workforce Alliance has partnered with employers, educators and community organizations across the region to develop strategies, programs and initiatives that help individuals gain the skills, knowledge and credentials needed to succeed in today’s labor market—while helping businesses secure the skilled talent they need to grow and remain competitive.
During the event, Tressel will share insights on statewide workforce development initiatives, including the new WorkOhio program, which connects Ohio job seekers
with real people in their community who help them navigate the regional job landscape.
His remarks will highlight how collaboration between state leadership, employers and workforce organizations continues to strengthen Ohio’s talent pipeline.
“This milestone represents a decade of partnership with employers, educators and community leaders who are committed to building a stronger workforce across our region,” said Karen Alsop, president of the North Central Workforce Alliance.
“Together, we have helped connect job seekers with meaningful career pathways while ensuring our employers have access to the skilled workforce they need.”
