Gary R. Lang age 72 of Ashland, passed away on April 6,2026 at the UH St. John Medical Center in Westlake.

Born in Ashland on May 1, 1953, the son of George Rexford and MaryJo (Linn) Lang, he had been a resident of Ashland County all of his life. He was a truck driver and farmer. Gary loved traveling the World with his wife, Linda, especially to the Grand Canyon, the Redwood Forest, Branson, Missouri, and Niagara Falls. He and his wife also made many trips to Ireland, as well as Scotland, Norway, Paris, Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, and especially loved his family and helping others. Through the years, Gary was always so generous in lending a helping hand to others, especially farmers who needed donations of hay, farm equipment and supplies. Gary’s final gift was the gift of life to so many unknown people in need through his Lifebanc donation. Gary and his son Dan enjoyed picking up milk at many dairy farms in Holmes and Ashland county where he made lasting friendships. Gary was a member of the Ashland High School Class of 1971 and attended The Ohio State University.

On June 12, 1976, Gary was married to Linda Dietrich who survives.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by three children: Richard Rexford Lang of Greenwich, MaryAnn Lang of Ashland and Daniel A. Lang of Ashland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Also surviving is one sister and one brother: Carol Denbow of Wooster and Joseph ( Wanda) Lang of Apple Creek. He is also survived by three sisters in law: Linda Lang of Nova, Judy Lang of Florida and Wendy Lang of Ashland.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Robert Lang, Ronald Lang and Jon Lang. Also preceding him in death is his infant sister, Barbara Lang and son in law, Greg Gourley.

In keeping with Gary’s wishes there will be a private celebration of his life that will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Gary’s memory to Paradise Hill Church, P.O. Box 1263, Ashland, OH 44805.
