The sale will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 1360 Smith Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

ASHLAND — A May 9 plant sale, the Art of Gardening Club’s fundraiser for the year, will showcase perennials, herbs and houseplants.

The sale will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 1360 Smith Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Most plants including hard-to-find varieties will be priced at $2 cash/check only.

Kim Tanner, member, will oversee the fundraiser. Among the 200+ plants she’ll feature at the sale will be black raspberries, Phlox, Monarda (bee balm), yellow Loosestrife, variegated Solomon’s Seal, hardy Chrysanthemums, Brunnera, Ferns and Hostas.

Lana Potter will bring to the sale Siberian iris, Rudbeckia (Black-eyed Susans), Tansy, Stonecrop (sedum), Snow-on-the-mountain, Lady’s mantel, and Shasta daisies.

Kathy Varner has conveyed that she’ll be bringing basil and cilantro (coriander) seedlings. Cathy Siwek will display her yellow Daylilies, Liatris ‘Kobold,’ Feather Reed, Morning Light Maiden Grass, and Sedum Autumn Joy.

Kathy Bargar’s plants include Crevice alumroot, Hosta (Plantain Lily) and Hosta (August Lily).

Lee Heckman has indicated she will be bringing Pothos, mini Monstera, Christmas cactus and spider plants.

The club has 19 active members, so this is just a partial list of what will be available.

Claudia Dunn will give a pep talk geared toward the plant sale at the May 6 meeting. The club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church.

Pat Edwards, president, has indicated that there will be a Food Truck that serves different beverages set up in the Peace Lutheran Church parking lot for the May 9 plant sale.
