NANKIN — The Mapleton FFA Floriculture team earned a strong showing at the Ohio State Floriculture Contest held on April 13 in Circleville, placing 23rd out of 69 teams statewide.
A total of 254 participants competed in the event, which tested students in a variety of industry-based skills. Contest components included plant and material identification, calculating parts per million, evaluating floral arrangements, and creating bud vase designs complete with pricing “receipts.”
Leading the team was Emilee Stolcals, who placed 55th overall. Makayla Williams followed with a 106th place finish, while Izabella Harris placed 160th. Hallee Kamentz rounded out the team with a placement of 182nd.
