ASHLAND — Heartland Technical Education Center said farewell to nearly 200 high school seniors Friday morning.
The vocational school district — formerly known as Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center — put on its Farewell Ceremony for the Class of 2026 on the campus of Ashland University as hundreds of proud family members and friends filled the seats of the Convocation Center.
The ceremony included scholarship presentations and several special awards were distributed, including Student of the Year which was awarded to Nevaeh Anderson of Mapleton Local School District.
Friday morning’s festivities concluded with the presentation of portfolios to all 199 members of Heartland’s Class of 2026, followed by closing remarks from Principal Scott Musser.
The Class of 2026 included students from Ashland, Hillsdale, Loudonville, Mapleton, West Holmes, Ashland County Community Academy, Buckeye Community, Clear Fork, Crestview, Goal Digital, Lexington, Lucas, Mansfield Christian School, Ohio Virtual Academy, Private, Quaker Digital Academy, Shelby and Wooster.
