David A. Fitch, 68 of Ashland, passed away from this life on Friday evening, May 29, 2026, in his home with his family at his side.

He was born on July 25, 1957, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Marshall and Maxine (nee Grover) Fitch.

Dave graduated from Crestview High School, Class of 1975, where he remained active on the wrestling team, leading the team to numerous competitions and awards.

He married the love of his life, the former Nancy Jo Boylan on August 6, 1977.

Dave retired after more than 44 years from Packaging Corporation of America as a specialty products supervisor in 2022. While working at PCA David developed many cherished friendships. His dynamic personality, infectious humor, and genuine kindness made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Throughout his life, he was an avid artist and enjoyed fishing on Charles Mill Lake. One of his favorite past times was maintaining a picture-perfect yard. David had a gift for lighting up a room and bringing smiles to those around him. His life story would not be complete without his loving family who he adored and meant the world to him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mrs. Nancy Fitch of Ashland; four children, Mindy (John) Scurlock of Ashland, Amy (J.D.) Shouse of Ashland, Katharine (Justin) Kidd of Ashland and Cody Price of Ashland; five grandchildren, Madison and Gage Scurlock of Ashland, Ethan (Destiny) Fitch of Ashland, Evan Shouse of Ashland, and Braxton Kidd of Ashland; two great grandchildren, Jason and Mariana Fitch; one expected grandson on June 15, 2026, Carson David Kidd; seven siblings, Arden (Pat) Fitch of Savannah, Debra (Gaylon) Klobe of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, Randall Fitch of Mansfield, Darrell Fitch of Ashland, Mardell Wharton of Shelby, Douglas (Beth) Fitch of Ashland, and Dondi (Diane) Fitch of Cortland; numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Peanut the Pug.

In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by Nancy’s parents, Joe and Katie Boylan.

A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Wellness Center at Brethren Care Village, 2130 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805. A private family interment will take place in the Nankin Cemetery on a different day.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Care Foundation, 2130 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805, c/o Brethren Care Golf Outing.
