ASHLAND — Friday night entertainment at the Ashland Golf Club has sparked evenings of family-friendly fun across generations.
AGC kicked off its “Parties on the Patio” on May 29. The parties will continue all summer long on the following dates: June 5, 12 19 and 26; July 4, 10, 17, 24 and 31; Aug. 7, 14 and 20 and Sept. 6.
“Parties on the Patio” run from 6 to 9 p.m. on their scheduled dates and include food trucks and live music at 1333 Center St. The bar inside AGC’s golf shop is also open during the parties and offers a variety of adult beverages.
Friday’s featured food truck will be Mr. Bill’s Pizza and live music will be provided by Lovehook.
Ev DeVaul, “vice president of fun” at AGC, has spent his time in recent years helping out with operations at AGC. DeVaul is well known throughout the community for his lengthy tenure as Ashland High School’s athletic director, vocational director and assistant principal.
He also served about a decade as the executive director of the United Way of Ashland County and spent a few years with the Ashland County Community Foundation.
DeVaul said several music groups featured at AGC this summer include Ashland musicians, particularly the Rare Vintage Band — who recently performed May 29 in Mansfield during the Final Friday series.
“The music is a great variety of different things and the crowd is young and old,” DeVaul said Wednesday. “I think we’ve become the place to be on Friday nights.”

July 4 (Saturday): Music by Elvis impersonator Lonnie Freeman. Food trucks: Tommy’s Classic American and Chuy’s Tacos. Stay and watch the Freer Field fireworks from the golf course hillside. Tickets are $10.
July 10: Music by SHaK (Semer, Holthouse and Kastran). Food truck: Mellow Yellow Pizza.
July 17: Music by Lovehook. Food truck: Tommy’s American Classic.
July 24: Music by Doghouse Roses. Food truck: Black Willow.
July 31: Music by Rare Vintage Band (in the pavilion). Food trucks: Cub’s Country BB-Q and Dough Pros.
Aug. 7: Music by Nate Williams Band. Food truck: Mr. Bill’s Pizza.
Aug. 14: Music by Chris Donley. Food truck: Mad Meltz.
