David L. Crosby, 74 of Ashland, formerly of Black Mountain, North Carolina, went to his eternal home early Monday morning, September 21, 2026, at his home.
He was born on February 3, 1952, in Wooster, the son of the late Elmer L. “Tug” and Betty (nee Bonewit) Crosby.
Dave graduated from Wooster High School, Class of 1970. He proudly served in the Ohio National Guard Army Reserve 1979 to 1984.
He married the former Deborah (Brecheisen) November 30, 2001.
Dave spent his years of employment at Regal Ware, Rubbermaid, and McElroy Packaging, before moving to North Carolina. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he was an NRA enthusiast, enjoyed shooting guns and watching OSU, the Cleveland Browns, and NASCAR. In his earlier years he was a wrestling coach. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Deb Crosby of Ashland; two sons, Clint (Megan) Crosby of Pembroke Georgia and Clayt (Shelly) Crosby of Ashland; a special family friend, Jessica Cochran of Orville; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his three siblings, Bill (Sandy) Crosby of Wooster, Bob (Kay) Crosby of Wooster, and Kim Crosby of Smithville; numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine companions, Murphy and Maggie.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents; and the mother of his sons, Lucinda Jolley.
A Celebration of Dave’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard.
