Dr. Evelyn Amparado Alcantara, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Ashland, Ohio, passed away on September 29, 2026. Born in Iriga City, Philippines on April 21, 1941, Evelyn graduated from college and medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. In 1966, she came to the United States to continue her physician training and began a career practicing anesthesiology for over 30 years in Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. She worked for over 13 years at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.

Evelyn was married to her loving husband Cesar Alcantara on June 17, 1972 until his passing in 1999.

She previously practiced her faith as part of the communities of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee, Florida and St. Edward Catholic Church in Ashland, Ohio.

After retirement, Evelyn enjoyed travel with family and friends to six continents, including multiple cruises and religious pilgrimages. She volunteered countless hours. She especially loved fundraising and planning and attending class reunions through her medical school alumni associations.

Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Chris Limperis); sons Jason and Jeffrey; grandson Christian; step-grandchildren Jessica and Edward; grandpup Chachi; brothers Lino (Mariel) and Fredolin (Cora); nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
