NANKIN — Six Mapleton seniors were highlighted Saturday morning following the Mapleton Cross Country Fall Classic.
Mapleton’s six senior runners include Kaylee Gault, Tyler Hartzler, Aleigha Hissong, Josiah Kucnick, Layla Perzy and Tommy Santana.
Each senior was gifted a banner, a gift bag and a golden running shoe.

The recognition ceremony followed Saturday morning’s meet, which included 28 teams from across the state.
Mapleton cross country coach Joe Ortiz said the group of six will be remembered for their personalities as much as their running.
“To say that each graduating running Mountie is unique from each other would be an understatement,” Ortiz said. “Their differences highlight an important lesson that successful teams and lasting friendships do not require you to be the same.
“They are built out of shared mission and respect for one another.”
Each senior was greeted by their parents and family members for photos following the ceremony.
